BALDWIN CITY, Kansas – The No. 7 seeded Baker University softball team went 1-1 on day two of the 2017 Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament with a 1-0 upset over No. 2 Clarke in 11 innings and a 5-0 loss against No. 3 Evangel at Heritage Park in St. Joseph, Missouri.
The Wildcats will now face No. 1 seeded Grand View on Friday at 12 p.m. in an elimination game.
The 27-25 Wildcats will face the 40-12 Vikings for the first time since Apr. 19 when Grand View swept the 'Cats, 1-0 and 3-0.

In game one against No. 2 Clarke, Olivia Brees helped lead the Wildcats to victory with 11 innings of stellar work and 14 strikeouts. The sophomore allowed just seven hits and has lowered her ERA to 1.49 on the season.
Hannah Flynn was the hero in the contest, as she finally broke the scoreless tie with a solo home run over the left field fence to give the 'Cats the 1-0 lead in the Top of the 11th. She was the only Wildcat with a multi-hit game, as she went 2-for-4.
In game two against Evangel, Kyra Parker threw a complete game shutout against the Wildcats, allowing just five hits in seven shut out innings.
Teagan Louthan got the start for Baker and went two innings allowing four earned runs, then Madison Nedved came in and shut the Crusaders down, going four scoreless innings and striking out three batters.
