BALDWIN CITY, Kansas – After arguably the greatest season for a pitcher in Baker softball program history, sophomore Olivia Brees has been named a 2017 NAIA Softball Honorable Mention All-American, announced on Friday.
This marks the first Baker softball player to be named an All-American, since pitcher Erin Greenwood was named an Honorable Mention All-American in 2013.
Brees finished the season with a school record 300 strikeouts and the school record for innings pitched with 201.1 Her 24 complete games were also a school record.
The Meriden, Kansas native was one of only two pitchers in the entire NAIA to strike out 300 or more batters.
Her opponent batting average of .177 ranked No. 8 in the country and her hits allowed per nine innings of 4.52 ranked 10th nationally.
