Baker Cheer Takes Third at Season-Opening NAIA Competition

PARKVILLE, Mo. - Competing in its first NAIA competition of the season, the Baker cheer team came away with a third-place finish at the Park Invite on Friday evening in Parkville, Mo.

The Wildcats posted a score of 77.8 to finish third among the seven-team field that saw fellow Heart school Missouri Valley (85.8) come out on top. BU just missed out on edging second-place Avila, which totaled a score of 78.4.

Friday's competition marked the Wildcats' first time competing at an NAIA event this year after they opened their season at the 2026 UCA Nationals back in mid-January.

Baker will take part in a pair of competitions next weekend, competing at the MNU Invitational on Friday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m. in Olathe, Kan., before turning around and hosting the 2026 Baker Classic on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 1 p.m. inside the Collins Center.
