Baker Dance Set to Fight For NAIA National Championship on Friday and Saturday

YPSILANTI, Mich. – After winning a conference championship and a regional championship, the Baker dance team is now set to compete in the NAIA National Championships on Friday and Saturday where they will look to win Baker University first ever team National Championship.

The Wildcats have now made seven appearances in the NAIA National Championships, with their highest finish coming in 2017, when they posted a score of 85.78 and finished in third place.

On the season, the Wildcats have competed in seven different events and have an average score of 86.93. Baker was able to score in the 90's at the Midwest Regional, posting an overall score of 92.21 for their highest score of the season.

Other NAIA dance teams competing in the 2023 NAIA National Championships include Aquinas, Grand View, Morningside, Viterbo, Midland, Concordia Ann Arbor, Loyola New Orleans, St. Ambrose, Oklahoma City, Thomas More and Doane.

Only St. Ambrose and Grand View have higher season averages than Baker with averages of 89.87 and 88.50 respectively. The preliminary round will begin on Friday at 4 p.m. (ET), with the Wildcats performing at 5:30 p.m. (ET).

The final round will be held on Saturday and will begin at 9:00 a.m. (ET), with the order dependent on the preliminary scores. Following the finals, the awards ceremony will begin at approximately 11:30 a.m. (ET).
