Shine Earns Heart's First Dancer of the Week Award

BALDWIN CITY - Linda Shine of the Baker dance team was named Heart Dancer of the Week, following her performance in the Wildcats' season-opening trip to the Falcon Invite on Friday.

Shine helped lead the Wildcats to a runner-up finish in their first competition of the year, earning a team score of 89.63 to take second among the seven-team field in Wichita, Kan.

The senior from Newton, Kan., is in her fourth year with the program and has received all-conference recognition in every season since coming to BU in the fall of 2022. She was named to the All-Heart Second Team in 2024 and 2025 and was an honorable-mention selection in her freshman season in 2023.

Shine and the Wildcats will be back in action next at Kansas Wesleyan's Coyote Classic on Jan. 30, starting at 4:30 p.m. in Salina, Kan.
