Blanck Named Heart Dancer of the Week

BALDWIN CITY - Sarah Blanck of the Baker dance team earned Heart Dancer of the Week honors following her performance in the Wildcats' runner-up finish at their home competition this past weekend.

Blanck and the Wildcats recorded a score of 86.21 to place second at the Baker Classic on Saturday, narrowly missing out on first place by less than half a point. Saturday's performance marked BU's third runner-up finish of the season after taking second at both the Falcon Invite and the Coyote Classic to start the 2026 campaign.

The junior from Shawnee, Kan., was an All-Heart Second Team honoree last year and becomes BU's third dancer to earn the Heart's weekly honor after teammates Linda Shine and Kadee Ellis won the award previously.

Up next, the Wildcats will turn around and host a second straight home competition alongside the BU cheer team with the Baker Battle, which will take place on Wednesday, March 4, at 6 p.m. in the Collins Center.
