Kramer Named Final Heart Defensive Player of the Week
BALDWIN CITY - After receiving the honor one time previously this fall, Zac Kramer of the Baker football team was selected Heart Football Defensive Player of the Week in the final edition of the award this year.
Kramer, a senior from Seneca, Kan., had six tackles and earned two takeaways, including the game-sealing interception, in the Wildcats' thrilling 41-38 victory at Graceland on Saturday in the regular-season finale for BU.
The four-year player wraps up an incredible career here at Baker, finishing with 269 total tackles, nine interceptions, eight sacks, four fumbles recovered and two fumbles forced. Kramer was named an NAIA All-American and the 2024 Heart South Defensive Player of the Year last season.
Kramer and the Wildcats closed out the 2025 season with a 6-4 overall record, while going 5-1 and finishing with just one loss in Heart South play for the third straight year. After starting 0-3, BU won five straight and completed an impressive midseason turnaround to challenge for the conference title in last week's pivotal matchup against Benedictine.
