Bio

Willy Perez begins his third season as head coach for the Wildcats for the 2025-26 season.

In the srping of 2025, Baker finished off the program's second season of competition with a 13-9 record overall and competed in its second straight NAIA Flag Finals, advancing to the semifinals of the Championship bracket on a thrilling last-second touchdown to give BU a pair of wins in the NAIA postseason tournament. Coach Perez earned KCAC Coach of Year honors, and the Wildcats had 8 players earn all-conference honors. 

In the program's inaugural season in the spring of 2024, Perez guided the Wildcats to a 13-7 overall record and a win in the NAIA Women's Flag Football Finals with a 26-12 victory over Midland in their postseason debut. BU went 9-4 in conference play and reached the semifinals of the KCAC Tournament. Perez had five players named to the KCAC All-Conference team with Destiny Martinez, Kayla Harrison, Faith Phillips, Sanija Waller and Gabriella Zabaletta all earning the honor.

With over 20 years of playing experience in flag football, Perez came to Baker after boasting a highly-successful career as a quarterback that includes both national and world championships as well as being a finalist for the 2022 US National Team.

In 2021, Perez won the FFWCT 35 and Over World Championship in both 4 and 5 Man formats with the championships being played in Panama City.

Perez was named head coach of the U.S. National Girls 15U team in 2023. He has coached flag football in various youth divisions and spent two years as head coach at Monsignor Edward Pace High School in Florida where the sport is played competitively at the high school level.
