BALDWIN CITY - Quentin Harvey and Ahmed Mahgoub of the Baker men's basketball team swept the Heart Men's Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards, presented by WinWon, with Harvey being selected for offense and Mahgoub earning his second straight defensive honor.
Harvey averaged 28 points between two games against Missouri Valley and Clarke last week, including a 32-point outing against the Pride where he also broke the program's single-game three-point record with eight triples in the game. After receiving the inaugural award last week, Mahgoub, a senior from Kansas City, Mo., has garnered both defensive player of the week honors in its first year as one of the Heart's weekly awards. He totaled 13 rebounds, six steals and four blocks between two games last week, including an impressive performance at Clarke where he finished with 10 rebounds, four steals and two blocks. He added 17 points on the offensive end against the Pride to earn his first double-double of the season.
With a 5-1 start to the year, the Wildcats will return to the Collins Center for another midweek conference matchup, taking on Park on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Baldwin City.
