Mahgoub Selected Heart Defensive Player of the Week

BALDWIN CITY - Senior forward Ahmed Mahgoub of the Baker men's basketball team was named Heart Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season following his performance in the Wildcats' pair of wins last week.

Mahgoub had a couple of blocks in Baker's 87-64 victory over Peru State in The Heart Conference Network Game of the Week on Wednesday, helping to hold the Bobcats to a season-low 64 points. He went on to rack up five steals and another block in an 84-72 win at MidAmerica Nazarene on Saturday.

The senior from Kansas City, Mo. has garnered the Heart's newest defensive accolade in three of the four weeks with back-to-back honors to start the season. He has recorded at least three steals in a game five times this year and leads the team with 11 blocks.

With an undefeated conference record, Mahgoub and the Wildcats head out for a second straight road game with a midweek matchup at Central Methodist on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Fayette, Mo.
