Julian Earns First Heart Men’s Bowler of the Week Award

BALDWIN CITY - Ryan Julian of the Baker men's bowling team took home one of the conference's first weekly awards of the season after being named Heart Men's Bowler of the Week following his performance in BU's season-opening tournament this past weekend.

Julian, a junior from Auckland, New Zealand, bowled a 217 average and placed seventh at the Mid-States Championship down in Wichita, Kan., in his first competition as a Wildcat. The junior transfer from Mount Mercy marked the second-highest score among NAIA bowlers at the tournament.

After a solid first competition all-around, Julian and the rest of the Baker bowling team will be back in action this weekend with their first home tournament of the season. The 2025 Jayhawk Collegiate Challenge will take place on Oct. 25-26, with the men competing at Royal Crest Lanes in Lawrence, Kan., and the women at Gage Bowl in Topeka, Kan.
