Dines Named Heart Men's Golfer of the Week

BALDWIN CITY - Collecting a win in his first tournament of the fall, Gavin Dines of the Baker men's golf team was selected as Heart of America Men's Golfer of the Week following his first-place performance at the Crestview Fall Classic last week.

After clinching the Heart championship in the spring, Dines opened up his 2025 fall season by winning the individual title at Friends' home tournament on Tuesday. Sitting in 12th going into the final day, Dines tied the program's 18-hole record with a 66 in the third round to catapult himself up the leaderboard and force a four-way playoff, which he won to earn his sixth career victory.

The junior from Olathe, Kan. is coming off a spectacular sophomore season that saw him finish as the Heart individual champion and qualify for the NAIA Men's Golf Championship for the first time in his career.

Dines and the Wildcats are in action today (Sept. 22) and tomorrow (Sept. 23) as they compete at Kansas Wesleyan's Central Plains Invitational at Sand Creek Station in Newton, Kan.
