Jacobs, Ben-Tal Named NAIA Men's Soccer All-Americans
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – After helping lead the Baker University men's soccer team to the final site for the fourth time in six seasons, freshman Lucas Jacobs has been named an NAIA First Team All-American, while senior Gonnie Ben-Tal has been named an NAIA Third Team All-American.
These awards mark the sixth consecutive season that at least one Baker University men's soccer player has been named an NAIA All-American. It also marks the 13th time that multiple athletes have been named NAIA Men's Soccer All-Americans in the same season. Both of these athletes are earning this award for the first time in their careers.
Jacobs, a freshman from Bredea, Netherlands had a terrific freshman campaign as he led the team in several different categories including, goals (19), assists (10), shots (62), shots on goal (45), points (48) and game winning goals (7). Along with being named an NAIA First Team All-American, Jacobs was also recently named Heart of America First Team All-Conference.
Ben-Tal just recently finished up his senior season with the Wildcats as he helped the team to a 16-6 record and a trip to the final site in Irvine, Calif. Throughout the year, Ben-Tal started every game for the Wildcats, scoring four goals and picking up four assists on the year. Most of Ben-Tal's contributions came on the defensive side as he captained the back-line for the Wildcats. He helped Baker post five shutouts on the year and only game up more than one goal three times on the season.

This award is chosen by the NAIA Men's Soccer All-America Selection Committee. This committee is made up of the NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches Association Executive Committee, the National Championship Games Committee and four men's soccer coaches. Three teams are named, plus honorable mention.
