Arystanov Earns Heart Defensive Player of the Week Honors

BALDWIN CITY - Maxot Arystanov of the Baker men's soccer team was named this week's Heart Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week following his performance for the Wildcats last week.

Arystanov, a freshman from Uralsk, Kazakhstan, recorded nine saves and allowed just one goal in back-to-back victories for Baker last week. He had five saves on Wednesday at Missouri Baptist before earning his fourth solo shutout of the season in a 1-0 win at Graceland.

In his first season, Arystanov has started 13 of BU's 15 matches and allowed just 13 goals, while collecting 30 saves and boasting five shutouts overall, with a combined effort mixed in there from a scoreless match in which he suffered an injury midway through.

Arystanov and the Wildcats will be back in action this weekend, returning home to face Clarke on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 3:30 p.m. at Hartley Field.
