Neil Heads to 2026 NAIA Indoor Championships

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Kemaro Neil of the Baker men's track and field team will represent the Wildcats at the 2026 NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 5-7, held inside the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville, Fla.

Qualifying for his first national meet, Neil will race in the preliminaries of the 600-meter run on Friday, March 6, with the prelims scheduled to start at 1:15 p.m. (CT). If he qualifies for one of the top-eight spots, Neil will compete in the 600m finals on Saturday, March 7, at 12:35 p.m. (CT).

Neil has had an excellent indoor campaign, culminating with his first trip to nationals. He broke the school record in the 600-yard run at the Washburn Open back in late January before settling on his fastest time of the season at 1:12.09 at the Bearcat Invite on February 6.

The sophomore from Kingston, Jamaica, went on to set another school record after clocking a time of 1:20.16 in the 600m at the Heart Championships a couple of weeks ago. Neil placed fourth, individually, while clearing the NAIA 'B' standard in Maryville, Mo.

The NAIA Championships are set to begin on Thursday, March 5, with the multi-events getting underway at 9 a.m. (CT). The championship concludes on Saturday, March 7 with finals beginning at 10 a.m. (CT).

You can watch a live stream of all three days of action on the NAIA Network or Urban Edge Network. Live results will be made available via Half-Mile Timing.
