Prado Selected Heart Men’s Wrestler of the Week

BALDWIN CITY - Baker junior grappler Saoul Prado was named Heart Men's Wrestler of the Week, presented by Musco, following his performance in the Wildcats' outing at the Kaufman Brand Bayly UCM Open on Sunday.

Prado, a junior from Las Vegas, Nev., took second place in the Elite 125-pound bracket and went 2-1 in the tournament with both of his wins coming by decision, including a tough 4-2 battle in the semifinal bout to advance to the title match.

Prado was one of three Wildcat wrestlers to place at the UCM meet with his brother Nat'aani Prado taking fourth in the amateur division at 133 pounds, while Jazen Brown came in sixth in the Elite 141-pound bracket.

Baker men's wrestling will be back in action next week to host a conference triangular with Grand View and Benedictine, starting at 5 p.m. on Dec. 4 in the Collins Center.
