Baker Cross Country Competes at Gans Creek Classic on Friday

COLUMBIA, Mo. – In their third race of the season, the Baker cross country teams competed in the Gans Creek Classic on Friday where the women finished in 19th, while the men took home 24th.

The Baker women scored 521 points in the meet with an average time of 24:37 in the 6K race. Haley Carter led the Wildcats with a 90th place finish to score 56 points for Baker.

Coming in behind her was Ellie Barnard in 146th place, while Peyton Peterson and Natalie Kennedy finished 192nd and 198th while Kristi Chambers rounded out the scoring in 209th place.

The men scored a team total of 671 and an average time of 26:57 in the 8K race. Aidan Massey was the first Wildcat to cross the finish line, finishing in 135th place for 94 points, while teammate Anthony Davis finished in 188th for 127 points.

Jaden Vohs and Jacob McGlasson finished in 237th and 253rd respectively, while Michael Knaussman rounded out the scoring for Baker with a 270th place finish.

The Baker cross country teams will be back in action on Saturday, October 12, as they travel to Lawrence, Kan., to compete in the Billy Mills Invite.
