Massey Earns Heart Runner of the Week Honor

BALDWIN CITY - Aidan Massey of the Baker men's cross country team was tabbed Heart Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, presented by BoxOut, following his performance at the Billy Mills Classic this past weekend.

Massey, a senior from Olathe, Kan., claimed his first individual title of the season with a first-place finish at Saturday's meet, hosted by Haskell. He clocked a personal-best time of 25:07.70 to lead the field of nearly 50 runners in the 8K race and finished as the top-scorer for a BU men's team that came away with the team title.

It's the second time this year that Massey has earned the conference's weekly award after he joined teammate Haley Carter in sweeping the honors following their outing at the Gans Creek Classic in late September.

Massey and the Wildcats will close out their 2024 regular season by hosting the 2024 Mike Spielman Classic on Friday, Oct. 18 with the women's 5K starting at 5 p.m., followed by the men's 8K at 5:40 p.m. at the Baldwin City Golf Course.
