Persson Named Heart Men’s Runner of the Week

BALDWIN CITY - Luke Persson of the Baker men's cross country team was selected as this week's Heart Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week following his performance at the 2025 Mike Spielman Classic, hosted by the Wildcats, on Friday.

Persson, a junior from Odessa, Texas, recorded his highest finish of the fall after placing third among a field of 43 runners, helping lead the Wildcats to a team title in their final home meet of the season. He paced a BU men's squad that joined the women's side in sweeping the team titles for the second straight meet.

Persson and the Wildcats will close out the 2025 regular season with the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic, taking place this Saturday, Oct. 25, in Ashland, Neb.
