Baker Bowling Finishes Regular Season at Hoosier Classic
INDIANAPOLIS – With the conference tournament on the doorstep, the Baker bowling teams traveled to Indianapolis this past weekend and competed in the largest collegiate tournament of the season with the 2025 Hoosier Classic.
The Baker women ended the first day of the tournament in 35th with a total pinfall of 4407 on team scores of 881, 970, 794, 872, and 890. Freshman Skyler Holmes led the Wildcats individually in the tournament, finishing 65th overall. For five games, Holmes averaged 194.6 with a 973 series. Kaleigh Buckalew, the next-highest finisher for the Wildcats, finished 124th with a 909 series.
On Sunday, despite their late surge at the end of the tournament, the deficit was too much for the Wildcats to make up for. The women had baker set totals of 896, 852, and 1028. After five team games and 15 baker games, the Wildcats finished 38th out of 66 teams with a total pinfall of 7183.
The Wildcat men came out of day one of the tournament in 52nd. The team had a total pinfall of 4714, with team totals of 859, 940, 928, 997, and 990. Junior Ken Rowland led the Wildcats individually for the tournament, finishing 136th. He averaged 194.8 on the day with a total of 974. His highest game, a 224, came during his first game of the tournament. The next-highest finisher for the men was Josh King, who finished 139th with a 972 series.
On Sunday, the men continued to battle in the highly-competitive tournament. The Wildcats had baker set totals of 853, 874, and 927. After five team games and 15 baker games, the Wildcats finished 55th out of 78 teams with a total pinfall of 7345.
Both teams will return to the lanes on February 22-23 as they travel to Columbia, Mo. to compete in the Heart of America Conference Bowling Championships.
