Schieber Named Heart’s First Offensive Player of the Week of 2024

BALDWIN CITY - Emma Schieber of the Baker women's soccer team was selected as the Heart Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, presented by WinWon for her performance last week in the Wildcats' first set of matches of 2024.

Schieber earned the conference's first player of the week award of the season after she recorded her first career hat trick in Baker's 7-2 victory over McPherson on Wednesday. Her seven-point performance in the first half against the Bulldogs, included three straight goals in less than a five-minute stretch as well as earning an assist on Darcy Cato's goal before halftime.

The senior forward from Shawnee, Kan. started all three matches in BU's season-opening week and is coming off a 2023 campaign that saw her score two goals in 17 matches.

Schieber and the Wildcats return to the pitch on Friday, Aug. 30 to face Ottawa for a non-conference road match starting at 6 p.m.
