Baker Track and Field Hosts 2025 Wildcat Classic

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Hosting the first of its two outdoor meets this season, the Baker track and field teams posted solid times and marks at the 2025 Wildcat Classic on Saturday with the event primarily being held at Liston Stadium.

With the meet being on the smaller side with just four other teams competing, the Wildcats came away with eight event titles between their two teams, including top finishes from the BU women's 4x100-meter (49.73) and 4x400-meter (4:06.65) relay teams.

Alexis Summers swept the women's sprint races with a first-place finish in both the 100m (12.25) and 200m (24.79) with both of her times ranking in the top three among conference sprinters this season.

Bailey Arceneaux and Shanniel Graham went 1-2 in the women's 400m with both runners posting sub-minute times with Arceneaux going 58.91 seconds and Graham following with a 59.59.

Jana Landreth took first in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 13:01.05. Julie Coffey earned runner-up honors in the women's javelin with her best mark coming on her final throw of the day where she went 38.54 meters, which ranks third on the Heart's performance list.

BU claimed four of the top-six spots in the women's 400-meter hurdles with Mackenna Longacre pacing the group on a time of 1:12.41 to place second. Rylee Lansdown (1:13.05) and Samantha Cook (1:16.31) followed in third and fourth, respectively, while Lauren Havlik (1:19.88) took sixth.

On the men's side, Kameron Glasper and Eithan Kodger secured first-place honors with Glasper coming out on top of the men's discus field with a throw of 48.22 meters, while Kodger was the first runner across in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.01 seconds.

Glasper went on to add a couple of top-four finishes in the hammer throw (44.44m) and shot put (13.80m) and placed sixth in the javelin (44.69m). Kodger came in third in the men's 400-meter hurdles race after clocking a 59.59.

As one of BU's outdoor national qualifiers from last year, Caleb Nelson took second in the javelin with his best mark coming on his very first throw of the day at 54.53 meters.

Michael Knaussman was the first of three BU runners to cross in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase, recording a 10:28.97, while teammates Wyatt Allen (11:01.42) and Wrenner Brown (11:35.00) followed in back-to-back spots in fourth and fifth. Jaden Vohs placed third in the men's 1500m with a time of 4:10.63.

Up next, Baker will head to the Midwest Classic, hosted by Emporia State, on Friday, April 4 with the one-day meet set to kick off at 11 a.m. in Emporia, Kan.
