Wildcats Bag Two Titles, Place 11 at York Open
YORK, Neb. - With three straight dual wins under its belt, Baker women's wrestling continued its terrific start to 2026 with an impressive all-around showing at the York Open on Saturday, highlighted by a pair of individual championships.
The Wildcats finished the day with 11 total placers, led by title runs from Kylie Robledo (110) and Nevaeh Wardlow (180). BU also added multiple runner-up finishes and three third-place efforts.
Robledo and Wardlow each captured a championship in Baker's first tournament action in over a month. Robledo earned her second title of the season, advancing to the finals with a tech fall in the semifinals before edging a 9-7 decision in the championship bout. Wardlow secured her first collegiate title after pinning her opponent in the semifinals and closing out the bracket with a dominant 9-0 victory in the finals.
Madeleine Stone turned in a standout runner-up finish at 207 pounds in the Open division, knocking off the NAIA's No. 6 and No. 18 wrestlers in back-to-back matches. Kara Pope added another second-place performance for the Wildcats at 207 pounds after finishing as the runner-up in the Amateur division.
Johanna Carrasco (180), Willow Dubois (124) and McKenna Haltom (145) each claimed third-place honors. Dubois won four straight matches to secure her podium finish, while Haltom added three victories on Saturday to go along with her trio of dual wins in 2026. The Wildcats will first face the Vikings in a conference dual at 6 p.m., followed by a matchup with the Spires.
