Carter, Massey Sweep Heart Cross Country Runner of the Week Honors

BALDWIN CITY - Baker cross country's Haley Carter and Aidan Massey were named Heart Men's and Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week after their performances at the Gans Creek Classic on Friday.

Carter, a junior from Overland Park, Kan., ran a personal-best 6K time of 23:29.5 and placed 88th overall among a field of over 300 runners (306). She paced the BU women who came in 19th in the team standings with a total of 526 points.

Massey, a senior from Olathe, Kan., also set a new personal record with a time of 26:06.9 and finished 134th overall in the men's 8K race. He led a BU men's squad that totaled 686 points and came in 24th.

The BU duo and the rest of the Wildcats will take a week off to gear up for the final two competitions of the regular season, beginning with Haskell's Billy Mills Invite on Oct. 12 at 9 a.m. in Lawrence, Kan.
