Harvey Breaks Three-Point Mark, Wildcats Roll Past Pride, 89-70

DUBUQUE, Iowa - A week after earning his 1000th-career point, Baker forward Quentin Harvey set another milestone this weekend, setting BU's single-game three-point record to help the Wildcats cruise to an 89-70 victory on the road at Clake on Saturday.

Harvey went 8-for-10 from three to break the previous single-game mark (7) that was set by six different Wildcats with the most-recent being Braden Griffiths who hit seven threes in a game twice last year.

Led by a 20-point half from Harvey, the Wildcats scored 52 points in the first half to take a comfortable 52-31 lead at halftime before holding the Pride under 40 points in the second half too and open the Heart of America season with back-to-back victories.

Harvey finished with a game-high 32 points in just 23 minutes of action, while Ahmed Mahgoub put up his first double-double performance of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

A triple from Harvey opened up the game and Mahgoub followed with one closely after to set the tone early. Harvey and Ty Henry connected on three straight from long distance with Harvey knocking down back-to-back threes to make it a 19-8 lead for BU.

Cason Richardson snapped a midway lull for the Wildcats with the junior guard draining one from deep to join the three-point frenzy. Harvey, Mahgoub and Richardson each fired in another three as a layup by Kaimen Lennox capped the 52-point half for BU, giving them a 52-31 lead at the break.

With BU leading by 21, the action slowed down a bit in the second half with Mahgoub tallying his third and final three of the ballgame a few minutes into the half. Richardson helped halt another cold stretch for BU with his three giving the Wildcats a 69-46 lead with just over 10 minutes left to play.

Harvey broke the record in the midst of a scorching stretch with three straight triples in a span of 30 seconds with his record-breaking three giving Baker its largest lead of the game at 83-50.

With a 5-1 record to start the year, the Wildcats have won by at least 23 points in three of their five wins, including back-to-back blowout victories to begin league play after BU defeated Missouri Valley, 84-61 in the conference opener earlier this week.

Up next, Baker will return to the Collins Center for another midweek conference matchup, taking on Park on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Baldwin City.
